One case has an open bottom that exposes charging port and light. A later case has a closed full bottom which I prefer but was difficult to put on. Do all cases now have closed full bottoms? I’m very pleased with the case which provides protection and is easy to grip. And the price is very affordable with attractive colors.

I initially purchased 3 RAPID RADIOS. I am totally impressed with the range and clarity of these radios. I haven't had the opportunity to test them out for extreme distances. But I did use them to talk to my wife when I was about 80 miles from home. Might as well been right next door. I recently purchased 2 more radios to be able to communicate with more family members and intend to buy 2 more in the near future. Awesome product. I highly recommend them.

The external speaker/microphone is a great accessory. It allows the user to clip the radio to their belt, while the microphone can be clipped to the user’s shirt or jacket collar. The speaker is loud and the sound that it produces is quite clear.
